 Harry Potter and the HBP today @ Plaza Singapura, a shopping centre that I have no impression of. While I don’t think HBP deserved all the great reviews it got and that 96% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes (which has since been brought down to a, still, formidable 84%) it wasn’t a BAD film. It left an empty feeling at the end; Dumbledore didn’t get a funeral; the climax at secret cave was too short; The Burrow never got burned down; the movie didn’t have the part with Fudge and the Muggle minister (which I personally thought would be interesting); Harry did not spend his holidays hanging around subways and talking to African-American girls with afros.    And I’ve always thought the casting for Harry, Ron and Hermione had been perfect, along with Bellatrix and McGonagall but the new cast for HBP seemed a bit, ‘off’? Why does Narcissa Malfoy’s hair look like Cruella De Vil’s? Why is Cormac McLaggen tall and relatively handsome while he should have looked big and ugly? Why does Horace Slughorn not have a walrus moustache? Boo. But however bad Harry Potter turns out to be, I would never turn to twilight :) oh no twilight bashing, something I should have swore off long ago, before I made everyone, including myself, sick of the act. I wonder why you talk so much (complain complain) Dance tmr, funny prop time; preferably not at the Rooftop Hall, pretty please? |
