Ho(mer) (Monday, August 31, 2009)
The above is not purely just a public display of narcissism; it also marks my first successful attempt at uploading a photo from my phone to the computer. I didn't write it though.

I actually ran 2km yesterday without stopping, after much persuasion (and brainwashing) from my mother that I should really go out and exercise. She might have noticed that I've recently transformed into an unfit and flaccid (couch) potato-like being. The fact that I exercised out of PE lessons is astonishing but plausible. What is truly unbelievable was that Hipchip Pomunk (or recently, Baby Gaga) ran without stopping too! Goodness, a Chipmunk-Hippo is as fit as me; what is the world coming to?

Today was Teachers' Day Celebration; we had a class party for 25 minutes. Then it was the celebration concert which was okay. Thankfully (and miraculously) the whole school with principals, teachers, parents and CCA coaches packed in the multi-purpose hall didn't result in extreme heat. I stress multi purpose here, because I'm a penurious and obdurate miser. Adorability will not sway me.

Anyway, I’ve gone off point.

The teacher awards were visibly the highlight of the concert. The Indian dance by the teachers was entertaining and surprisingly well-rehearsed. PSG tried doing Bollywood, then jazz, which I initially thought was line dancing or something. I appreciate the parents’ efforts and I too understand that they’re not as agile and coordinated but no way was there any jazz element in their performance. If anything, I would say there’s a slight hip hop element in the performance at the most. If it’s indubitably apparent that it’s not jazz, please don’t call it jazz. And now this is going to draw flak for being finical, overly punctilious and hypercritical but perhaps I do have such an annoying personality. Say yay for adjectives!

I did not return to Tao Nan because I seriously doubt that anyone actually remembers me, also because I might be a thankless wretch. I don’t think I was a very memorable student in primary school anyway. 6I basically grew apart and any mentions of a class party don’t gather enough interest or enthusiasm for anyone to be able to organize one. Not that I feel strongly against the absence of class parties, to be honest.

No school tomorrow, that’s nice but I never remembered Teachers’ Day being an island-wide school holiday.
