Under the Stairs. (Monday, August 17, 2009)
Although I think I have a lot of work to do, it is healthy to reflect on your day :)So I am blogging. Anyway, got my hopes up that a biology teacher would appear at our classroom door and hold a stack of paper with the pink slip in front but she never appeared. Instead, Mrs Wong TPY came and we had Physics as per normal. Quiz was horrendous. I don't understand why it was so because I studied but whatever. LA lesson was one of the most productive ever; today we listened to Mrs Heng's super informative little talk about a short story competition with the most original theme EVER – passion & never giving up. Also, we read the poem Under the Stairs. We didn’t just read it; we enunciated each word carefully, yet with passion and conviction, even experimenting with different tones and moods. Yeah, so anyway, we’ve already memorised the poem I bet because as I said, we didn’t just read it, we repeated the title “Under the Stairs” a full 20 times with different moods and pitching. Like Mrs Heng says “the first group to read kick starts the whole mood”. Then we also read out the real poem for a total of NINE times. LA lesson today = Short story competition + say “Under the Stairs” 20 times + Read a poem 9 times. I mean, we’ve learnt so much. Geography! Papers! It was satisfactory, good in fact :D Mr Ng didn’t come for Drama; CCT, reflection about FFF and a debate on chocolate, business strategies and ethics. Dance was at the dance studio, like finally. Still haven't finished HePing dance yet but everyone has to follow the NYMD trend of stocking-on-head, even upper sec haha. Sec 1s did great for their Apologize performance WHOO! There were technical errors (stupid) but they still got the timing right. They prepared thank-you cards and letters for all of us too. Go sec ones :) and continue to improve and excel at dance <3 |
