Scholarships: oh the irony. (Wednesday, September 30, 2009)
I don’t know what to write about for my (almost) daily LA essay practice. What are the recent hot topics, other than Ris Low (who has been mentioned a time too many) and Malaysia’s claim on Straits food (an article has been published in the Californian newspaper about this- under the ‘Weird’ news). Anyway our infamous Miss Singapore World has decided to ‘resign’. Okay, let’s not participate in the Miss World contest until we find a real beauty with brains. I’d rather we stop participating in international beauty contests until we find a real beauty (with brains of course) than send one of sub-standard every year and lose.

The real post: Hello, today we had school again, while yesterday was home-learning day. Not very fruitful, but I did do almost all the homework so that I could concentrate on real revision on the subsequent days. Although I was quite determined to do Chemistry yesterday, I only did a little bit of the 2008 BT2 paper because I eventually succumbed to the powers of procrastination and watched two episodes of Total Wipeout.

School was really slack today. Mrs Wong TPY didn’t come so there were only Physics worksheets to complete; PE was actually relatively fun because we were allowed to do anything we wanted to. So we played badminton, something I hadn’t done since P6. We learnt about the distressing change in our Malacca trip schedule, which elicited an extremely huge response from the class, possibly one of 206’s most united moments ever; 不谋而合; then did role-playing. We got back our Unseen Poetry today but I was told to work harder, ugh. Assembly was the finals of the Interclass Chinese Debate and somehow I think our one-time opponents spoke slower this time! I mean, I was no where close to actually understanding their content but you know, I managed to pick up stuff here and there. As I said before, their Mandarin seemed to be made out of evil Chinese characters flying towards you at rocket speed like bullets, rendering you momentarily stunned/speechless/confused/blown away/bowled over, STUPEFY! No that was random.
Anyway I am still effectively bullet-proof.
