Hello, today was a really stupid day because we had to go to school, basically for the sake of going. It was disorganised because we had pockets of time in between activities which were basically a huge waste of time. First was the checking of overall marks. Language Arts: A1 Higher Chinese: A2 Humanities: A1 Integrated Mathematics: A1 (WHOOOO) Sciences: A1 MSG: 1.17 See, I tell you; don't underestimate my math prowess okay. The skit after recess was about the worst skit I've ever watched. It was dreadful and painful to hear and watch. The actors were using Singlish like it was cool. What, were they trying to establish a connection with the audience and make the event more light-hearted? Those performances that use excessive Singlish always make excuses like these.What, are we imbeciles that are unable to communicate in proper English? If you are able to speak in a way that people can actually understand you, why do you purposely degrade yourself? Singlish can be inserted here and there for humour, but not totally 'infused' into the script. I demand better standards from our Health Promotion Board, if they are going to force students to sit through substandard 'beneficial and educational' skits. SIA talk by seniors, very cold and slightly boring but I did pay attention for the more interesting subjects like IH and Geography. Math was horrid but it's okay since the Sec 4 also didn't understand. Dance was great; I felt a sense of relief because it was the only thing that was well-organised throughout the day. HePing now consists of 30+ zombies writhing all over the place (watch for them, they're scary!) and one poor and lonely girl who seems to be the only sane person around. You know what, this dance is starting to feel a lot like the movie I Am Legend (and other The-Last-Man-On-Earth movies) Then discussed Dance Night 2010. Interesting fusion of styles from all over the world. I think it will be superb :) Tomorrow we're going for level outing and we will all turn into sweaty dirty pigs*. However, there is still FOA rehearsal at the bloody hall. *But still, cute. (HA!) |
