You can hate me for life but I have to say this.

My thirst for grandiloquence has not been quenched; my enthusiasm for vocabulary improvement has not waned; neither will I be stepping down as the president of the Thesaurus Society.
Monday:
HePing day; LoA from 0730, (was supposed to have) reported at Rooftop Hall directly. Sec 2s proceeded to start cutting up the glitter paper into tiny little pieces; an extremely entertaining activity for I beguiled much of the free time observing the relationship between scissor blades and glittery paper/potato chip (!) packets.

We practiced for a bit in the rooftop hall; LIUlaoshi arrived early; Kelly helped us with our movements; dance got slightly changed. Auditorium rehearsals started after a quick snack for many and we rehearsed, watched other groups, sat around in the auditorium/some were setting up the dance mats, rehearsed with lights, listened to LIUlaoshi’s comments. LIUlaoshi dropped a bomb somewhere in between the above events because everyone had to wear stockings on their head.

Ate real food, then returned to dance studio where it was perfecting movements / perfecting paper shreds / seniors applying make-up time. Then it was time for the full dress rehearsal; terrorists with no make up and stocking; students with make up and no stocking. We couldn’t get the dance studio because Chinese dancers wanted to practice so we had to go out for the area outside Popular for LIUlaoshi’s comments. She said that we were improving after every time we danced, so that boosted our morale.

We could finally use the dance studio when the Chinese dancers left for dinner, practiced. Dinner was great, lemon chicken rice provided by the chicken rice stall. Shortly after dinner, Chinese dancers left for their performance so we had the whole dance studio to ourselves. It is now almost mandatory to perform our NYMD before-performance spirit circle. Everyone gathered in the middle of the dance floor, switched off the lights and played the Prelude music. Kelly decided to say a few words in the middle of the song and I think it was only then that we or perhaps, I realised how much she has done for this performance, despite the fact that she was unable to perform, and also how much she has done for NYMD, as a whole, this year. Anyway, Kelly distributed gummy bears to everyone and the after effects of sugar on some particular batchmates are truly disturbing, hmm.

Batch got relatively high and this sparked off a batch dance chain. It was a comical and farcical scene, yet incredibly fun, heartwarming and simply lovely. We tried to cool down and forced solemnity into the atmosphere. Kelly did a last minute costume check and we were off. Once backstage, we powdered our hands but it was no use for my hands just perspired through the powder. Grabbed a half a fist of glitter and watched seniors dance their glam parts. I tell you, the first part was like surreal with the smoky effect from the intense lighting. Then we ran out and I vaguely remember that I dumped a lot of glitter paper on my partner. A slip-up occurred but I don’t think it mattered greatly, in other words, I still think it was pretty good and we definitely stood out okay. I mean, how many dances are performed with stockings on heads?

Curtain call, the host remembered our dance because of the solecism made in Jody’s ending statement/question and also that our dance made an impact through the strong message! WOO :)

Tuesday:
Normal school day, shall not go into details much. I did not go for batch breakfast, as I, being a self-proclaimed nerd/mugger, went to school early even with LoA because I wanted to get history back. Not content, no, not at all, B3. Eh I only allow results like that for Chinese and math.

Wednesday:
Science in the morning, Mrs Wong lost me at F = ma; PE, usual; Malay, boring but I paid attention nonetheless. LA, spent 15 minutes waiting for Mrs Heng and vice versa because she forgot to inform us of the location. After that she talked about classroom cleanliness and we got a C and we’re all in a celebratory mood because we passed, but she’s not satisfied with just a pass so yeah. We see the glass as half-full; she sees it as half-empty. But anyway we’re allowed to hate her for life now! 33 girls heard it from the horse’s mouth you know.

I desperately want my LA papers back.

Assembly was a briefing on subject combinations and I just want to be a normal student with normal subjects, no less, no more; no scholarships or BSP or CLEP or Olympiad programs. I don’t need hair-tearing, arduous Math problems sums either; I’ve tore out a great deal of my existing hair already, thank you very much.

The longest post ever, man. I’m not planning to stop the daily vocabulary improvement until LA EOYs are returned.
