Hello, today was slightly boring. Submitted Subject Option form, finally decided and am quite pleased about final choices although I'm still not entirely convinced that it's the best choice. Maybe even a slightly ambitious choice, but seniors and teachers emphasised interest right. I don't think I am very talented in that field but neither do I think (or at least, I hope) it's not a preposterous, absurd choice that elicits incredulous responses.
So we had PCCG first, about The Marshmallow Test. I thought the conclusions derived from the test were quite obvious anyhow, so I don't really see the big deal in the experiment. Like this sentence I saw when I Googled “why people don't recycle” in preparation for today's chinese composition: “The more people know about recycling, the more they will recycle. Research has proven that people who do not know about recycle tend to recycle less.” Sadly, you need research to come to such a conclusion. Bravo.
Chinese was spent doing compositions; Science was extremely fruitful, useful and productive. I think what we learnt about Inheritance today was more than was ever taught by our former teacher, my god. Not that it takes a lot to surpass that, anyway.
Math was horrible because timed trials are bad. I think I can barely pass the timed trial, let alone get a decent mark. Decent for me can range from B4 to high B3. Anything from A2 and up for EOY, I will scream my head off like I got full marks, while some people shed tears because they didn't get 90% or something.
Lunch was spent running around the Aesthetics department waiting for Mrs Ho, then running to the dance studio before leaving again. Finally caught Mrs Ho and passed thumb drive to her, a bit embarrassing because you'd have to open the folder 'Slack Subjects' before you get to the folder called 'Music'. I conveniently omitted the word 'Slack' when I told her which folder it was in. We shouldn't agitate pregnant women.
History was revision; LA was more 'My Passion' talk but the computer promptly decided to stop functioning before the 2nd speaker even started. We still have half the class (or more) to cover and listen to and EOYs are in 27 days. Hookah.
We had the Sec 4 farewell party today at Conference Room C, ahem. Sec 2's food went quite well because the amount of food was just nice I think, there wasn't any annoying excess nor did we have anyone starved. Batch performance elicited positive response such as cheers etc. but I think that's just because it's a Mr Raj dance and the Sec 4s have an undeniable attachment to the Raj style. There wasn't enough space anyway. Bye-bye Sec 4s :)
Today we celebrated Hipchip Pomunk's birthday although there's actually one week to the actual date but her friends came over and the birthday cake was a shark. A chocolate shark with multi-coloured clownfish gummies around it. Extremely cream-based, perfect way to get fat.
Speaking of food and obesity...
The Chocolate Test.
“XXX, we have one chocolate here. I'm going to put it on this bench and leave for 15 minutes. If you resist the temptation to consume it, I will give you 5 more. There will be 6 chocolates on the bench then. If you can control your impulsivity and still not stuff them into your mouth, I will give you 14 more chocolates. You will have 20 chocolates then.”
-15 minutes later-
Nobody is around. XXX got cheated. XXX didn't even received a single piece of chocolate. XXX decides to come with a stripy headband, stripy shirt, stripy bra, stripy pants, stripy underwear, stripy socks and shoes, along with matching stripy earrings. The greatest change of all, however, comes from the shocking change in XXX's trademark hair. She dyed her hair black and white! Everyone is shocked. XXX is in a foul mood. Not even mango pudding and cheese can cheer her up.
