We're all Science students in the end.
I’m going to type in a huge block today because I am confused and I don’t know what to choose and the deadline is coming soon and I have no idea what I want to choose for Sec 3 subjects. Subject combination is very confusing and I don’t know where I’m leaning towards because my gravitational potential energy seems to change everyday. One day I like Humanities Program because everything is “advanced” (literature and humanities) and you’ll be considerably ahead of the rest of the cohort. And I quite like humanities and wordy stuff like literature. But the next day, the thought of having 8 compulsory subjects scares me and I start to think that the program is really for the elite students, like those who read Shakespeare for fun or something. The animal instinct is to run to safety; thus I lean towards Triple Science because that’s safe and stable and no one goes wrong taking Triple Science. Then I start to think that Triple Science will be very vigorous and the learning curve is very steep because of the 3 concurrent science subjects. Can you imagine the quizzes? So I’m afraid of the stress and I’m not a very Physics/number person anyways (which is actually a severe understatement), so maybe I should drop Physics. This makes me lean towards the Double Science curriculum, where I could take Literature or History or Geography (I like all of them, though. It would be hard choosing one to study, too.) Then I start to think that if I’m taking Double Science, I might as well grit my teeth and go for the Humanities Program since the subjects are almost the same except for compulsory Advanced Literature. The cycle starts again. And actually I was dead sure that I wouldn’t take up BSP or CLEP because I would be lucky if I could get into CC Tier 2 but today LIlaoshi talked about BSP and she said it would be a waste not to try because there’s no harm in trying. At the very most, you don’t get accepted and get into CC. Yes, but what if you get accepted? Then the Chinese exams will kill me and I’d just fail Chinese. Anyway she successfully brainwashed me into considering BSP but I’ve never had much interest in Chinese although the content of the curriculum sounds quite interesting so hopefully, I can tick that NO option for BSP/CLEP soon. One thing is for sure, Math and Science Program is out. It was never on the list for consideration. 200th post!
